There are many great fighter pilots in this book. Here are the men who are winning astounding victories against tremendous odds, keeping China’s heart beating, keeping China in the War. They have never received such moving tributes, never been so vividly pictured, as in this narrative by their commanding officer. This is, in fact, one of the greatest war adventure stories ever written. The Tales it tells seem incredible, but they show what men can do in war, and they go straight to the heart of the reader because they come humorously and modestly from a man who is brave and generous. And they come from a man who holds deep in his own heart the belief he has expressed in the title of his book- the faith that his plane has carried an unseen Co-pilot who, when Scott needed help, has told him what to do.
