Museum of Aviation Second Annual Ornament

Price: $16.00

In 1907, Ben T. Epps, a 19-year-old mechanic and electrician from Athens, Georgia, built and flew the first airplane in Georgia. Although it flew only 100 yards, it heralded the birth of aviation in the Peach State.

The Ornament: 100 Years of Flight in Georgia, 1907~2007 encircle The Epps Monoplane as it soars just above the treetops. The banner waving in the trees reads Ben T. Epps Monoplane 1907. Plane angles forward in front of the trees to give dimension. Ornament limited to 1248 pieces. 3 dimensional 24kt. gold plated brass, hand painted, with red silk hanging ribbon.
